I can’t even believe it’s been a whole year since I started this blog. I won’t lie…writing a blog can be quite time consuming, but also extremely gratifying, and I could not have kept it up if it weren’t for YOU! Yes, I’m talking to YOU readers! Viewing Archive: DIYI love jewelry…. and not the fancy shmancy kind that costs a fortune, but the super fun costume jewelry that you can get on the cheap! But I have this problem, that I’m sure many of you out there have (don’t be shy!) and that is that I forget about the awesome pieces I own because they are tucked away somewhere where I don’t see them. Solution? Pick up one of these funky jewelry displays and accomplish two tasks. Remember the goods you have, and subsequently wear them more often… Add some design/art to your bedroom! Check it out! New Whooohoo SNOW DAY! For those lucky enough to be stuck in the house today, it’s a great day for organizing, cleaning up & out, decorating, doing craft projects… Oh did I say projects? Well now that we’re on the subject…. Here was a favorite summer project of mine. And let me tell you… this project is pretty easy (and cheap) to do! So if you could use one of these in your home… try this DIY out! It started with a windowpane purchase from a flea market ($10). Not only are there are so many variations of ways to achieve this look, but this is a collectors DREAM! And bonus! And don’t be turned off by the REALLY BAD art – remember, that’s removable! Michaels or AC Moore sells these plain black plastic frames CHEAP! Keep reading… So this time of year especially, does anyone else have a hardcore collection of empty wine bottles hanging in their recycling bin? Anyone?? Well I know I’m not the only one, so thanks to my Dad’s great suggestion, and Mom’s dedicated assistance with providing empty wine bottles (hehe) this post is all about what you can do with the bottles AFTER the wine is gone. The party AIN’T over people! Not only does this post help save the environment (whoohoo!) but the suggestions here are all relatively inexpensive. So rather than my usual LOVE IT and WANT IT section…. Let’s go Have a seat friends, it’s story time! I made a great Craigslist purchase back in November 2009. It was a bit of a “shady” ordeal, that involved me driving to a remote house in the woods, alone, after the sun went down. However I was so excited by the potential of the two pieces for sale (and the bargain price tag) that nothing was going to stop me. But just to play it safe, I gave my fiance the address, called him before I entered the house, and said to call the cops if he didn’t hear back from Just picked this up from a Craigslist purchase. Guess how much? No seriously guess????? 10 buckeroos baby!!! I think I might try using this chair for my first “distressing” project using a black tint glaze. So this color ain’t just for funky southwestern jewelry anymore. It’s definitely had it’s turn in the home decor spotlight this year… But don’t take my word for it. Trend Alert: Turquoise. Conjuring images of Caribbean seas and dazzling jewels, this beguiling Thanks Beyoncé for your inspiration! I know you’re reading this So… I love wood. (insert inappropriate remark here). But seriously…. Every time I go to a flea market or tag sale, I am always drawn to their wood pieces, to use for storage. I think it’s a combination of my love for that worn, aged look, and that fact that each piece is always unique. I love it… For those who have little closet space in their home (insert 99% of you fabulous ladies out there), reclaimed wood boxes and crates are a great way to keep things organized and  |
