Quick hanging tip

I used to hate hanging things. I’ll admit it, I’m lazy and hate the process of measuring with a tape measure and ultimately messing up and leaving unwanted holes in the walls. But a few years ago I came across this amazing tip that I wish I could credit since it has done wonders for our walls! Since I can’t remember where I saw it, I’ll pay it forward here! 1. Flip your piece over to expose the hooks or holes. Yup, clearance from HomeGoods baby! 2. Cut a piece of painters tape and lay it across the top, covering

DIY Jewelry Organizer

I love jewelry. Not the fine stuff, but the inexpensive eclectic stuff that I’ve collected at thrift stores, etsy shops and boutiques over the years. My toddler also loves jewelry. Not so much wearing it but playing with it, throwing it, tangling it, or putting in our dog’s mouth. Lovely. I realized it was time to move my collection out of reach, and I am super excited to show you my recent DIY organizer that cost $25 and took an hour to make! I got my inspiration from Pinterest (where else?) so thanks to you lovely ladies for providing me

Personalized Baby Art

One of the most exciting things for me in setting up the baby’s soon-to-be room is adding personal touches to the decor. I knew I wanted to have a mini gallery wall that included decor that was cute, stimulating for a baby, but also from the heart! And so here is a quick look at the wall so far, which includes three pieces of custom “art” that I created especially for this little guy As always, thanks Pinterest for the inspiration! I have a decorative letter that I’ll be hanging below the middle item, but since we’re keeping our baby

DIY Succulent Medley

Saw these beauties at the garden store the other day… Price tag was $79 each. I love you but um, no thanks. So instead I bought these mini succulents (bottom right) for $4/each… And using some potting soil and a pot I already had siting around… Put together my own version! Best part? You really can’t kill these. Trust me. If any one could, it would be me… Nope. Alive and thriving, and under $30 buckeroos! I heart succulents.

In a Pinch Greeting Cards

A couple of years ago I bought this cool box of 25 random greeting cards from Costco that always came in handy when I forgot to pick one up for a special occasion. I’ll admit, they weren’t the cutest cards… in fact some I never used because they were so ugly…but they sure were convenient. I really missed having them once I ran out, and so the other day I decided to put my own little spin on the “card in a pinch” idea. This one I think is much cuter, and it will cost you under $15!

Copy Cat Project: Hanging Elephants

It’s not often that one of the millions of pins on my DIY Pinterest board turns into a reality, but that’s about to change, folks! I came across this adorable wall art idea on Pinterest a few months ago, and decided I needed to have it. Well go figure, I could NOT find the original source anywhere [#pinterestpinfail] but that’s okay because the DIY version is always more fun. Here is the inspiration: Love the whole room, but it’s those elephants I’m after! Here’s another and close up version I found, also on Pinterest, with no

Let’s Talk Chalk

One of my most useful DIYs to date is my chalkboard menu and shopping list. It’s been the most helpful way for me to keep track of things I need to pick up at the store, and you can read all about how to make your own, on the cheap, here. While I was happy with the overall idea, I was finding the actual chalk part to be messy and tough to write with. I like things neat, and chalk ain’t neat. Well it just so happened that while Tony and I were out for lunch
