Alrighty let’s continue with the backyard theme by talking about our most practical piece of outdoor decor, and that is our grill.
When we convered to natural gas heat (see this post for more info) Tony, being the grill master that he is, requested an extra gas line out back so that we could hook up a grill directly to the fuel source. See ya later propane tanks!
In typical Hopf style, we went right to Craigslist to find a natural gas grill and scored a Weber grill for so cheap, I’m not even gonna tell you how much we paid, in fear you might call me a liar and stop following my blog.
I know I have said this a million times already, but seriously Craigslist is where it’s at! If you are smart about your searching, you can score some major deals… Weber grill, case in point.
Anywhoo – we have been having fun experimenting with the grill and while this is by NO MEANS a food blog, I can’t help but share two of my favorite summer grilling meals so far…
Grilled Lobster, straight from Cape Cod, courtesy of my wonderful mother-in-law…
And beer can chicken! Yup, that’s right… there’s a beer in that bird. This is probably the best chicken I have ever had, and it’s actually pretty easy to do! I used this recipe, but I’m sure there are lot’s of other great variations.
While the grill is a practical piece at heart, it truly adds to the yard’s ambiance. It’s the place where all the dudes seem to migrate during a BBQ party, and eating dinner outside on the patio is truly a favorite summer event.
So what’s your favorite grilling food?
