Ready for room makeover #3?
We recently made some great headway on the dining room by installing wall-to-wall carpet. Believe it or not this was the first and only thing we didn’t do ourselves (or with the help of our “team” of family members) so we felt ok with the relative small cost.
Big shout out to Federal Carpet in Lowell, MA for having the best deal we could find, and some extremely friendly and helpful employees! If you’re looking to do carpet and your room isn’t over 13ft (any wall), look into carpet “remnants” as they are a fantastic deal!
So here is a before photo, in case you wanted to see the pink carpet and walls again. Oh and those drapes… yum!

And after some hard core sweat equity and carpet installation… Here is our new and improved dining room! We went with green for the walls (with white below the chair rail), and while I was nervous it would be a bit bold, I absolutely love it!
Here is the actual color, since my photo lighting skills are a bit lacking.
Paint: Behr Premuim Geranium Leaf (430D-5) in Eggshell
For the carpet we chose a neutral color berber with a very small square pattern. Since we got such a great deal on the carpet and installation, we “splurged” on a high end carpet pad which has a top rated stain protector. This is key if you have a pet since potential “accidents” will not seep into the pad and smell forever. Also good for messy eating/drinking friends
And there was no way I was going to give up my Target Ikat curtains!
Our new bar area!
Since we no longer have our built in glass storage unit, I needed to find a clever way to store all of our glasses. I searched far and wide, and when I came across these under shelf stemware holders, I had to have them!
Wine Enthusiast under cabinet stemware rack from Amazon.
Tony then attached them to the bottom of our new shelves from Ikea.
And thank you to all those that filled out the wine fridge placement survey!!! While it’s sitting on the floor temporarily, I hope to find a great storage piece to put it on… thanks to your suggestions!

I love the sideboard!
Thanks Kim! Craigslist baby!!
Checkin in on house renovations! Love the dining room!
I love the buffet you show here, and I’m liking the green on top, and white below the chair rail. It looks so pretty!
Thank you! I think I like even more because it was SUCH a steal on Craigslist.
Thanks Jenn! We were a little nervous at first since the green is pretty bold, but are thrilled with how it came out!
