As promised, here’s a little recap of my AMAZING bridal shower this past weekend. I’m still smiling from it…
In case you missed it, my incredible mom, with the help of my equally incredible matron of honor (who from here on out I will refer to as my Best Woman or “BW” cause it’s hilarious and makes us all sound a little younger) threw me the most fantastic bridal shower on Sunday. I was truly humbled by how much creativity, love and generosity filled the room, and relished in the fact that all of the women in my life that I care about so dearly were together in one place. How often does THAT happen?
Since this blog is all about decor and beautiful things for the home, I couldn’t wait to share with you all the decor & home highlights of the day. And for those who are reading this who attended Sunday – thank you again for everything. You all made it so special and for that I am forever grateful!
Ok, let’s get to it!
The shower was held at a restaurant near where my parents live (and I grew up) called West on Center.
We had the entire downstairs, with our own private seating area, bathroom, and what else… bar! There is also an adorable outside patio that we could have used, if the weather was a bit more in our favor. Oh well, what’cha gonna do?
The set up was intimate, classy, and simply chic. Loved it.
This was hands down AWESOME (and totally my style). My mom and BW filled mason jars with all of the dry ingredients for cookies or brownies, and attached to it a recipe card. They also covered the tops with yellow fabric to go with my yellow and grey wedding color theme. Loooove.
How freakin adorable are these???
Sorry mom, but I love how these look so much that I don’t think I’ll ever make the brownies.
3. The goods
I only wish I could post all of the amazing gifts we received because in all honesty, I loved EVERYTHING! My family and friends are some of the most thoughtful and generous people out there, and I love them to pieces!! But to keep this post from exceeding my photo limit, I thought I’d just post a few things that have been mentioned on House Full of Pretty… and I’ll be sure to mention all of the other goodies in future posts, as I start my life as an “official entertainer”. Because yes, I am now fully stocked to do so.
My adorable friend Aly used an antique storage box (which I have professed my love for in the past here) to hold the pans she got us.
Even if you’ve only read 1 or 2 posts on this blog, you likely know I’m obsessed with Ikat…. So how amazing are these Ikat dishtowels??? Thank you Kristi and Ethel!
And my sliiight obsession with organization was only enhanced with these new OXO Pop Top containers, from Ashleigh and Jody. YAY my pantry is so neat!
And last but not least, my incredibly talented friend Abbie made me a beautiful wall hanging similar to one I had been eyeing at a way-too-pricey store for over a year. This was so special….

4. The surprise
In addition to a hilarious and only a tiny bit embarrassing video of Jenny “though the years” (thanks Dad for not overly highlighting my awkward bowl cut stage…) everyone created a scrapbook page full of words of wisdom, recipes, well wishes, photos, etc… This book is incredible and something I will cherish for years to come.
Notice the title??
Yes, that’s correct – the page on the right is a mock up of HFoP Blog! And from who other than my Best Woman, Jo!!! xoxo J.H.
And just a few photos from the lovely day…

My beautiful mom (right) and her side of our family
Me (crazy lady in orange) thoroughly enjoying myself.
Just an excuse to give my amazing Dad a shout out!!
And I can’t forget my hottie future hubby, with his mom, and my grandma who “snuck in”.
So before I sign off, just one final HUGE THANK YOU to my mom, who I know is reading…
You are amazing, and I love you so much!!
